From the seed of an idea planted in 2009 the orchard has developed into a valuable community resource. It is filled with a mixture of fruit trees, including 19 different varieties of apples, along with pears, and some stonefruit. We also have ponds full of wildlife, a hedge full of blackberries plus butterflies, bees, wildflowers and birdsong. It is remarkably peaceful and a wonderful place to get together.
Why not come along and find out more.
We meet on Wednesdays from 10:30 until 13:00 [ish]. Work covers a variety of seasonal tasks but we always make sure to leave time at the end for refreshments and a chat. We also open the orchard during the summer when the apples are ready to pick and at other times for specific events.
To get to the orchard walk up Rotcher Lane and through the car park. Carry on through the park and onto the path [Park Lane] below the railway until you see the metal gate on your right leading up into the orchard.
Be aware that the orchard is on a steep hillside and the ground is uneven
