4 mile, two hour walk along the Colne Valley starting in Slaithwaite village
Head in the Marsden direction towards Rotcher picnic area, then follow paths to West Slaithwaite where you cross the canal and river and head up past Zapato Brewery towards the Olive Branch bistro.
Crossing the A62 Manchester Road, you will follow a footpath uphill to pick up the Colne Valley Circular on the southern flank of the valley and wander back through fields towards Yew Tree Lane, a steep lane heading back down into the village, crossing the A62 and then down the steps to the bridge over the river.
